HEALTHCARE

"Our communities must have access to conditions to be physically healthy and mentally well"

134755,k.jpeg

About 1 in 10 people in the United States don’t have health insurance, a primary care provider nor can they afford the health care services and medications they need.

Strategies to increase insurance coverage rates are critical for making sure more people get important health care services, like preventive care, cancer screenings and treatment for chronic illnesses.

Distance can hinder access to healthcare providers in rural areas. Interventions to increase access and improve communication — in person or remotely — can help those with transportation needs.

I believe in building a county-wide "Health and Wellness Task Force" made up of our top health care professionals, paraprofessionals, and community members.  The goal of this task force will be to engage in activities promoting the health and wellbeing of all residents. Topics of interest include nutrition, physical activity, adherence, medication management, and mental health.

Health and Wellness Task Force

MISSION - a community where all people have access to the services, supports, and environments needed to manage and maintain health.

GOALS

  • Advance community research and clinical practice that improves the health and wellbeing of people living in Clearfield County.

  • Engage in policy that promotes health-related quality of life, social and community participation, nutrition, physical activity, mental health, and medication management.

  • Work with healthcare providers to increase access to underserved areas through attainable solutions.
